Cinemo Teams with Gracenote to Drive Next Generation Connected Car Infotainment Concept
Recognition of locally stored music library helps identify driver’s musical tastes
Karlsruhe, Germany, January 7th, 2015 - Cinemo, a global leader in high performance and automotive grade multimedia playback, streaming, media management and connectivity middleware, announced further collaboration with Gracenote®, the global leader in music metadata and recognition technologies, to offer a revolutionary new way to enjoy music in connected cars. Product demonstrations will be held at the Gracenote Lounge located in the Cosmopolitan Hotel at CES 2015.
Cinemo’s advanced multimedia architecture using ultra-fast media management works with virtually any device and fully integrates the population of music metadata for Gracenote’s analysis. It also serves as a complete solution to the needs of a media centric consumer in the car, enabling unified transition on mobile, cloud, head unit, or rear seat configurations.
“Cinemo and Gracenote have worked extremely hard to marry Cinemo’s unique and high performance multimedia architecture with Gracenote’s smart playlisting solutions to drive more personalized listening experiences for drivers. We are delighted to bring this new powerful technology combination to automotive Tier 1 and OEM’s at CES 2015,” said Jim Corbett, co-founder of Cinemo.
Gracenote’s technology analyzes a driver’s music collection and listening behavior and assigns a unique musical taste based on its music metadata. A driver’s taste can then be used to help personalize the music experience by providing automatically generated playlists through Gracenote’s Entourage Radio platform.
“Cinemo's middleware provides very fast access to a local music library allowing us to identify the songs kept on the mobile device,” said Brian Hamilton, general manager of Auto, Gracenote. “Gracenote serves as the intelligence layer that helps developers deliver personalized music recommendations and smart playlisting capabilities for next generation user experiences.”
Cinemo was recently the recipient of Frost & Sullivan’s coveted 2014 Global In-Vehicle Infotainment Product Leadership Award, and has also been named a quadruple 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree.
